| The CBA is funded by subscription from members of the major public service broadcasters of the Commonwealth - The CBA seeks to further the concept of public service broadcasting - Foster freedom of expression and the right to communicate - Secure funds for training and train broadcasters in developing Commonwealth countries in management and broadcasting skills - Provide a point of contact and a forum for discussion - Help broadcasting organisations to share knowledge and skills - Build skills and experience of broadcasters through bursaries - Extend the Association's database about members - Encourage quality broadcasting through its awards for Exceptional News Features, Outstanding Programmes for Children, Programmes on Health, Broadcasting Engineering, and Exceptional Contribution to Public Service Broadcasting - The CBA also promotes the values of the Commonwealth and encourages creativity in Commonwealth countries through the Commonwealth Short Story Competition and organises the Commonwealth Photographic Awards in partnership with the Commonwealth Press Union. The CBA also works with the Royal Commonwealth Society on the Commonwealth Vision Awards. |
